Lesson Information

Our motto is to learn, have fun and to be safe!  Come and enjoy quality instruction in a relaxed environment while mastering your riding discipline. Dressage, Hunter, Equitation and Jumper lessons are available at the facility on various days with make-up lessons or additional training times arranged as needed.  Riding disciplines can change from lesson to lesson or within the one lesson itself.  Private or semi-private lessons are available.

Yearly OEF insurance is obtained from Ontario Equestrian at www.horse.on.ca and is required prior to working around the horses and having lessons – please submit your copies to the instructor once you receive them so they can be kept on file.  Yearly Sport Licenses are obtained from www.equinecanada.ca and are needed if you wish to compete in Equine Canada sanctioned horse shows.  A Bronze level license is usually chosen if entering into basic sanctioned shows, with one-time upgrades available if needed.  If you require more information regarding these two items, please don’t hesitate to ask!

Show Fees and trailering is available.  Fees depend on the number of students participating, where the show is located and who trailers or the trailering service used.  Please ask for details before each show.

Lesson Cancellations / Make-up Lessons

Please notify your coach in person or by calling/messaging the cell phone.  Twenty-four hours in advance is most appreciated if you are unable to attend.

Bursaries and Grants

Various grants and bursaries are available through private agencies and government programs.  Please inquire for more information and the requirements needed to apply.

Dressage – White/cream/beige breeches, black tall riding boots or black paddock boots and half chaps (depends on level competing), white or pastel shirt with sleeves, stock tie and pin, black/dark coloured jacket and black/white gloves.

Hunter and Equitation – Cream/beige/grey/tan breeches or jodphurs, black or brown riding boots, white/coloured shirt (solid or pin-striped) with ring collar and pin, black/grey/dark coloured jacket and black gloves.

Jumper – White/cream/beige breeches, black riding boots, white/light coloured shirt (solid or pin-striped) with ring collar and pin, black/grey/dark coloured jacket and black gloves.

As funny as it seems, please be aware of what under garments you do wear as colours/patterns are visible through your clothing!
